Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Black Spellslinger Control list commanded by Toshiro Umezawa. The game plan revolves around trading efficiently with opposing creature threats using low-cost and free instant removal spells like Fatal Push, Snuff Out, and Infernal Grasp. Each dead opposing creature triggers Toshiro, effectively doubling the value of every instant in the graveyard. The deck uses card draw engines like Deadly Dispute, Necropotence, and Night's Whisper to hit land drops and assemble big mana engines via Cabal Coffers, Bubbling Muck, and K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth. Once established, the deck pivots into game-ending life drains using Gray Merchant of Asphodel duplicated with Saw in Half, or a massive Exsanguinate. Additional utility pieces such as Horobi, Death's Wail and Nowhere to Run bypass opposing protection, while Thrilling Encore converts opponent board wipes into immediate game wins.
