Deck overview

This deck is a Mardu combat midrange deck led by Isshin, Two Heavens as One. The strategy focuses on curving out aggressive creatures and support permanents whose triggered abilities fire when creatures attack. Once Isshin enters the battlefield, each of these abilities triggers an additional time. This doubles token production from cards like Endless Foot Assault and Bone-Cairn Butcher, doubles mana ramp from Sword of the Animist, and doubles card draw and direct burn from Aurelia, the Law Above. The deck leverages additional combat steps via Relentless Assault, Waves of Aggression, and Aggravated Assault to close out games rapidly once an offensive board is established. A dense suite of protective instants, including Boros Charm, Unbreakable Formation, and Ghostway, ensures the army survives opposing board wipes.
