Hakbal of the Surging Soul by Sledge

Format: Commander

Commander: Hakbal of the Surging Soul

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Hakbal leads a Simic Merfolk tribal deck that wins through wide boards and combo finishes. Hakbal explores with every Merfolk at combat and ramps or draws on attack, quickly growing counters and filtering lands. The deck builds a critical mass of Merfolk with Deeproot Pilgrimage, Emperor Mihail II, and Roaming Throne, then closes with Craterhoof Behemoth, Triumph of the Hordes, or Finale of Devastation. Secondary lines create infinite mana with Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal or infinite turns and tokens with Intruder Alarm + Deeproot Pilgrimage + Wanderwine Prophets. Thrasios, Triton Hero acts as hidden commander, turning infinite mana into a full deck draw toward Thassa's Oracle or Aetherflux Reservoir.
