Deck overview

This mono-black midrange deck is commanded by Sheoldred, the Apocalypse and focuses on weaponizing card draws while controlling the board. The strategy pairs Sheoldred's life-drain and lifegain triggers with passive draw engines such as Scrawling Crawler and Phyrexian Arena, turning every player's draw step into a widening life disparity. Secondary synergies like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Marauding Blight-Priest, and Syr Konrad, the Grim amplify lifegain into rapid table-wide damage. The deck defends its life total with an extensive suite of creature removal and board sweepers, including Snuff Out, Flare of Malice, and Crux of Fate. Reanimation spells like Victimize and Chthonian Nightmare offer recursive staying power for midgame threats like Tragedy Feaster and Vincent Valentine // Galian Beast, ultimately grinding opponents down or finishing them with a large Exsanguinate.
