Deck overview

This Rakdos Treasure-token deck, helmed by Smaug, Wicked Worm, aims to generate a mountain of artifact tokens, convert them into mana and card advantage, then drain the table to death. The commander's ETB creates Treasures based on opponents' artifacts, and his triggered ability draws cards whenever Treasure mana is spent, providing a potent midrange engine. The 99 is packed with repeatable token generators (Goldspan Dragon, Magda, Brazen Outlaw, Xorn, Academy Manufactor) and drain payoffs (Mayhem Devil, Reckless Fireweaver, Mirkwood Bats, Disciple of the Vault). Alternate win conditions include Hellkite Tyrant's "20+ artifacts" trigger and Knuckles the Echidna's "30+ artifacts" trigger, but the primary path is accumulating life-loss triggers from token creation and sacrifice. The deck has no traditional counterspells and relies on a handful of instant-speed removal spells, making it vulnerable to well-timed interaction, but its redundant Treasure generation ensures it can keep grinding.
