Pirates, theft & treasure. by Zej

Format: Commander

Commander: Don Andres, the Renegade

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Grixis theft/control midrange deck helmed by Don Andres, the Renegade. The core strategy revolves around stealing opponents' permanents and casting spells they own, turning their own resources against them. The commander makes stolen creatures into efficient attackers by granting +2/+2, menace, and deathtouch, and produces two tapped Treasure tokens whenever you cast a noncreature spell you don't own. The deck wins primarily through combat damage from stolen creatures, augmented by mass theft spells like Insurrection and Mob Rule, and drain effects from Marionette Master and Marionette Apprentice. It is a value-oriented engine that gets stronger as the game progresses, leveraging opponents' decks for advantage.
