Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Boros Voltron strategy built around Lightning, Army of One. Lightning pairs first strike, trample, and lifelink with the Stagger mechanic, which doubles all damage dealt to an opponent and their permanents until your next turn once combat damage connects. The deck accelerates in the opening turns with efficient mana rocks, deploys Lightning on Turn 3, and establishes double strike or power enhancers by Turn 4. On Turn 5, Lightning connects to establish critical onset, enabling massive bursts of commander damage and lethal burn spells like Lightning Bolt and Ghostfire Slice. A dense suite of protective instants shields Lightning from opposing removal, while evasion lands like Rogue's Passage and mass goad effects like Taunt from the Rampart clear paths through blockers. The deck steadily eliminates opponents one by one, aiming to close the game out around Turn 8.
