Deck overview

This Grixis deck operates as a focused reanimator and high-end attrition strategy led by Sauron, Lord of the Rings. Its primary game plan revolves around rapidly filling the graveyard using Entomb, Buried Alive, and efficient looting spells like Faithless Looting and Frantic Search, then cheating massive, game-warping creatures into play on Turn 4 via Reanimate, Animate Dead, Persist, and Necromancy. Reanimating devastating targets like Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, Archon of Cruelty, and Vilis, Broker of Blood immediately strips opposing resources, empties enemy hands, and generates immense card advantage. The deck backs up this proactive engine with efficient interaction such as Swan Song, Chaos Warp, and Rakdos Charm. In the mid-to-late game, the deck transitions into lethal combat damage using Sauron, the Dark Lord, Scourge of the Throne, and mass recursion via Living Death, closing out the game around Turn 8 while maintaining overwhelming board and card disparity.
