Deck overview

This Shattergang Brothers deck is a nostalgic Jund midrange strategy blending elements of classic Fires beatdown, Odyssey-era madness/graveyard value, and Goblin sacrifice attrition. The primary game plan accelerates mana on Turns 1–2 using dorks like Birds of Paradise and Llanowar Elves, establishes a haste enabler such as Fires of Yavimaya or Fervor by Turn 3–4, and curves into aggressive beaters including Blastoderm, Spiritmonger, and Saproling Burst. Shattergang Brothers, Grave Pact, and Phyrexian Plaguelord convert expendable tokens and recursive bodies like Squee, Goblin Nabob and Reassembling Skeleton into continuous board control. While the deck possesses resilient graveyard recursion through Genesis, Oversold Cemetery, and Living Death, its clock is inherently protracted: without infinite combos or mass overrun effects, it must eliminate three opponents sequentially across 120 total life via combat damage and incremental burn, giving the table ample response windows.
