Format: Commander

Commander: Shalai and Hallar

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Shalai and Hallar is a Naya +1/+1-counter burn deck built around the commander's front face; there is no double-faced commander here. The main plan is to ramp into Shalai and Hallar, load it and other creatures with counters, then convert every counter trigger into direct damage. A compact loop can end the game: Shalai and Hallar plus Spider-Man, Peter Parker plus Take Up the Shield causes life-from-lifelink to trigger more counters and repeated Shalai damage. The secondary path is a counter-heavy hydra army, sometimes finished by Crackle with Power. The deck becomes significantly weaker if Shalai and Hallar stays off the battlefield.
