Deck overview

An Izzet combo-control deck built around Niv-Mizzet, Parun as the draw-and-ping engine. The most reliable win pairs the commander with Niv-Z, the Firemind (a hidden backup commander in the 99) plus Ophidian or Curiosity: once both dragons are active, every card drawn deals two damage and the aura replaces that draw, so a controlled chain of about 60 cards can kill all opponents. Secondary plans use treasure and spell-synergy creatures like Goldspan, Storm-Kiln, and Prismari inspiration to turn extra-turn and storm spells into big turns. There is no double-faced commander; the deck is clearly built to cast Parun, with the second Niv as a key reinforcement.
