Deck overview

Winota, Joiner of Forces is the deck's primary engine. The plan is to deploy cheap non-Human attackers, cast Winota, Joiner of Forces, and attack so each non-Human trigger puts a Human onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. The list has strong role density: Ornithopter, Phyrexian Walker, Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh, Gingerbrute, and token makers supply attackers, while Blade Historian, Adriana, Captain of the Guard, Myrel, Shield of Argive, and Greymond, Avacyn's Stalwart convert trigger volume into combat pressure. Tax effects such as Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and Archon of Emeria slow opposing development, while Boros Charm, Selfless Spirit, and Flare of Fortitude protect a developed board. Ordinary usable assembly is turn 5, with a credible onset on that attack. Variable hits, blockers, limited tutoring, and weak recovery usually make turn 8 the reliable finish estimate rather than a same-turn kill.
