Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius combo-control strategy led by Rex, Cyber-Hound. The primary game plan revolves around filling the graveyard through self-mill and looting spells, accumulating energy counters via Rex's combat triggers and utility spells, and using Rex's sorcery-speed exile ability to imprint activated abilities with brain counters. By combining an untap creature like Horseshoe Crab or Morphling with a mana-producing creature like Steelswarm Operator or Omen Hawker, Rex generates infinite mana for activated abilities. That infinite mana feeds directly into an imprinted Walking Ballista to ping the entire table for lethal damage. Backed by efficient Azorius counterspells, protective equipment, and versatile sweepers like Farewell, the deck controls the game pace until it can assemble its combo. While reliant on natural draws and self-mill rather than tutors, Rex retains imprinted abilities across zone changes, ensuring resilience against removal.
