Deck overview

This Dimir deck utilizes Phenax, God of Deception as a commander while centering its primary win condition on compact mill and life-loss combinations. The primary game plan accelerates toward assembling Duskmantle Guildmage and Mindcrank, which form an infinite loop that empties libraries and reduces life totals to zero in a single turn. Backed by efficient black tutors such as Demonic Tutor and Vampiric Tutor, the deck rapidly searches out missing pieces. A robust suite of low-cost countermagic—including Fierce Guardianship, Swan Song, and Force of Negation—protects the combo while disrupting opposing win attempts. Secondary win routes include Bruvac the Grandiloquent paired with a kicked Maddening Cacophony to mill entire libraries at once, alongside large toughness mill engines using The Mindskinner and Consuming Aberration. The strategy balances proactive combo assembly with steady control interaction to close games efficiently.
