Deck overview

This is an Izzet spellslinger combat deck helmed by Rootha, Mastering the Moment. The core plan is to cast high-mana-value instants and sorceries, then convert them into large flying haste Elemental tokens via Rootha's combat trigger. Cost reducers (Thunderclap Drake, Stormcatch Mentor, The Scarlet Witch, Dirgur Focusmage) and rock ramp accelerate those big spells, while token payoffs like Shark Typhoon, Prismari Pianist, and Curiosity Crafter build a parallel board. Extra combats (Full Throttle, Seize the Day) and extra turns (Nexus of Fate, Alrund's Epiphany) multiply the damage from hasty flyers. There are no infinite combos; the deck wins through overwhelming aerial combat, supported by spell-copy finishers such as Surge to Victory and Mizzix's Mastery. Rootha is the premier payoff but the 99 still functions as midrange Izzet value if she is answered.
