Deck overview

This deck is a specialized Temur Spellslinger engine commanded by Iroh, Grand Lotus. It centers on Iroh's ability to grant flashback {1} to all Lesson cards in the graveyard during your turn. By combining this discount with cost reducers such as Catalyst Stone, Doc Aurlock, Grizzled Genius, and Goblin Electromancer, the deck casts numerous Lesson spells from the graveyard for zero generic mana. These free casts trigger card-drawing engines like Archmage Emeritus and Secrets of the Dead, allowing the pilot to cycle through large portions of the library in a single turn. The deck finishes games on Turn 6 by converting high spell counts into exponential creature swarms via Stormsplitter, table-wide burn with Guttersnipe and Longshot, Rebel Bowman, or a decisive Grapeshot. Recursive defensive Lessons provide strong protection against spot removal, while backup token generators ensure resilience.
