Commander: Tahngarth, First Mate

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Gruul "hot potato" combat deck helmed by Tahngarth, First Mate. The plan floods the table with must-attack threats-Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos, Slicer, Hired Muscle, and Kharn the Betrayer-then forces unfavorable combat through a dense goad suite while suiting its own bodies with Equipment. Tahngarth is a resilient 5/5 that dodges multi-blocks and can be loaned into opposing attack steps, but he is not the sole engine; the 99 already contains multiple independent attackers and goad payoffs. Primary wins come from cumulative combat damage as donated creatures and goaded boards chew through life totals, backed by a classic Equipment Voltron package (Blackblade Reforged, Colossus Hammer, Hammer of Nazahn, Raised by Giants). There are no infinite combo lines-the deck wins by turning every combat step at the table into its clock.
