Deck overview

This deck is a classic Dimir Rogues tempo strategy led by Anowon, the Ruin Thief. The primary game plan revolves around deploying cheap, evasive creatures on the earliest turns, then casting Anowon on Turn 4 to buff the team, mill opponents upon combat damage, and draw extra cards when creatures are milled. The deck converts combat pressure into card advantage while selectively disrupting opponents with countermagic, spot removal, and asymmetric stax pieces like Frozen Aether and Dauthi Voidwalker. To close games, the deck relies on explosive tribal payoffs such as Notorious Throng, Stinkdrinker Bandit, and reanimation bombs like Sepulchral Primordial. While highly consistent at establishing early card flow and unblockable chip damage, the deck lacks fast combo finishes or nonland tutors, requiring multiple combat steps to defeat the entire table.
