Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis combat spellslinger combo strategy centered around Fire Lord Azula. Azula provides mana velocity via Firebending 2 and copies any spell cast while she is attacking. The primary game plan deploys early mana rocks on Turns 1–2, casts Azula on Turn 3 or 4, and initiates a storm chain during Turn 4–5 combat. By casting rituals and draw-discard spells during combat, Azula doubles their effects to rapidly generate surplus mana and cards. This velocity digs into the core win condition: Reiterate paired with Seething Song or Turnabout to create infinite mana, followed by infinite copies of Lightning Bolt or Comet Storm to eliminate all opponents in a single turn. The deck supports this game plan with a dense suite of 1-to-2 mana counterspells and targeted protection spells like Dive Down and Bolt Bend, while retaining a fully functional commander-independent combo line.
