Deck overview

This mono-blue control deck uses The Watcher in the Water to turn card draw on opponents' turns into defensive board presence and offensive pressure. By drawing cards during each player's turn with spells like Brainstorm, Teferi, Master of Time, and Rhystic Study, the deck floods the board with 1/1 Tentacle tokens. When Tentacles die through sacrifice outlets like Skullclamp or combat trades, they untap the commander—removing its nine stun counters—while locking down opposing threats with stun counters. Synergies with Junk Winder and Fear of Sleep Paralysis create permanent tap-locks across opposing battlefields. The deck finishes games either by swarming opponents with flying Drake and Illusion tokens boosted by Alandra, Sky Dreamer, draining life totals via Psychosis Crawler, or generating infinite mana with the Isochron Scepter and Dramatic Reversal combo.
