Deck overview

This deck leverages Ares, God of War to turn aggressive combat into an engine of endless attrition. Whenever an attacking creature dies, Ares returns it to your hand rather than leaving it in the graveyard. By pairing this triggered ability with sacrifice outlets like Goblin Bombardment and Warren Soultrader, the deck attacks freely, sacrifices blocked or expendable creatures during combat to trigger death payoffs, and retrieves them immediately. High-impact attackers such as Lightning Skelemental and Ancient Stone Idol supply immense combat pressure, while cheat engines like Sneak Attack and Ilharg, the Raze-Boar deploy them at minimal mana cost. Board control is maintained through asymmetric sacrifice triggers from Grave Pact and targeted removal like Deadly Rollick. Opponents face constant pressure from both direct combat damage and noncombat drain, eventually folding under overwhelming resource disparity.
