Deck overview

Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest is a single-faced BG sacrifice aristocrat commander; there is no double-faced or hidden commander. The deck is not built around his +1/+1 pump as the primary engine. Instead it is a compact persist/undying combo deck that ramps with one-drop dorks and fast mana, assembles a sacrifice loop, then converts death triggers into table-wide drain. The true engine is the Melira + persist package, with Protean Hulk and a tutor suite as assembly tools. Mazirek provides a useful backup pump whenever sacrifices occur, and serves as a fallback beatdown threat with Finale of Devastation. Secondary paths lean on Grave Pact/Token sacrifice value and Chatterfang. The deck is fast, tutor-rich, and largely independent of its commander, but it has limited stack interaction and relies heavily on the graveyard.
