Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Azorius go-wide strategy built around Bard, King of Dale. The game plan centers on curving out with early utility creatures and recruit effects, resolving Bard on Turn 6, and leveraging his replacement effects to create twice as many creature tokens and draw two cards on secondary draws. This engine rapidly swells hand size and battlefield presence. The deck closes games through combat damage by pumping its 1/1 Human Soldier tokens with mass team pump spells such as Great Teacher's Decree, Pride of Conquerors, and Borrowed Grace. Because the list eschews fast mana rocks in favor of a high land count, it develops at a deliberate, fair pace. Its primary vulnerabilities are vulnerability to mass sweepers and a multi-turn damage clock that affords opponents ample response windows.
