Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages deathtouch tribal synergies to establish a lethal combat clock and an oppressive board attrition engine. Commanded by The Serpent Society, the list pairs cheap deathtouch creatures with poison payoffs like Fynn, the Fangbearer and trample enablers like Primal Rage. Because deathtouch only requires assigning 1 point of combat damage to destroy a blocker, trample forces all remaining power directly to the defending player's life total or poison tally. Meanwhile, any creature combat trades or sacrifice outlets turn into asymmetric board wipes, forcing each opponent to sacrifice nontoken creatures whenever a deathtoucher dies. Opponents attempting to remove the commander face a punishing Ward cost of five poison counters, leaving them halfway to elimination. Supported by efficient green-black ramp, card-draw assassins, and cheap reanimation spells, the deck consistently controls the battlefield and eliminates the table through poison counters by Turn 7.
