Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Helmed by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls, this Rakdos list is a dedicated group-slug deck that converts every routine game action - drawing, fetching, tapping lands, and casting spells - into drain and card advantage. Valgavoth compounds the table's pain: whenever an opponent first loses life on their turn (nearly every turn here), the commander grows and draws you a card. The 99 is a stacked punishment suite: Sulfuric Vortex, Manabarbs, Underworld Dreams, Painful Quandary, Zo-Zu the Punisher, and friends, multiplied by Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, Torbran, Thane of Red Fell, and Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might until every ping is worth 6-12 life. There are no infinite combos; the deck bleeds the whole table evenly, answers the most dangerous permanents with a compact instant package, and closes via Exsanguinate, Chandra's Ignition on a pumped commander, or Wound Reflection double-dipping an entire turn of damage.
