Deck overview

This deck is a Simic Draw-Go control strategy helmed by Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student. The primary game plan revolves around casting Tamiyo on Turn 1, attacking to generate Clue tokens, and quickly flipping her into Tamiyo, Seasoned Scholar through high-density card draw spells such as Brainstorm, Frantic Search, and Sylvan Library. Once flipped, Tamiyo blunts incoming aggression with her +2 ability while recurring key instants and sorceries with her -3. The deck controls the tempo of the game using efficient countermagic, channel lands, and mass bounce spells like Cyclonic Rift and Evacuation. As the game progresses, passive card-draw payoffs like Ominous Seas, Chasm Skulker, and Jolrael, Mwonvuli Recluse generate massive token swarms to close out the game over two combat rotations. High-impact planeswalkers and alternate win conditions like Laboratory Maniac provide resilience and late-game inevitability.
