Ur Gonna Need a Bigger Boat by Nightbear

Format: Commander

Commander: The Ur-Dragon

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a five-color Dragon tribal deck helmed by The Ur-Dragon, built to exploit his Eminence cost reduction and his attack-triggered card advantage. The core loop is simple and powerful: ramp hard turns 1-3, deploy the commander ahead of curve, then swing with a growing dragon swarm - each attack draws a card per Dragon and cheats a permanent from hand onto the battlefield for free. The deck wins primarily through overwhelming combat damage, with trample from Garruk's Uprising and haste from Dragon Tempest/Temur Ascendancy turning the swarm lethal. Secondary lines include burst damage from Terror of the Peaks and Scourge of Valkas amplified by Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm's token copies, and the alternate Hellkite Tyrant twenty-artifact win. A dense tutor package (Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Worldly Tutor, Eladamri's Call) plus Scion of the Ur-Dragon ensures the right Dragon or engine arrives on time.
