Format: Commander

Commander: Betor, Ancestor's Voice

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Betor, Ancestor's Voice is a five-mana lifegain/lifeloss engine: its end-step trigger both grows a creature with +1/+1 counters and reanimates a creature. The deck wins through a single large evasive attacker (typically Betor or an Angel) fed by Nykthos Paragon and Lathiel, while Dina, Indulging Patrician, and Lunar Convocation convert life gain into global drain. There is no infinite combo; the finishing line is Accomplished Alchemist plus Crypt Rats, using one huge life-gain turn to produce X black mana and deal 40 damage to all opponents. Betor is the primary recursion/counter engine, with Nykthos Paragon acting as a hidden engine. The commander's absence slows the deck but does not stop the underlying lifegain strategy.
