Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black control build helmed by Maha, Its Feathers Night. Maha reduces the base toughness of all opposing creatures to one. When paired with continuous static minus-one/-one effects such as Night of Souls' Betrayal, Kaervek, the Spiteful, M.O.D.O.K., or Screams from Within, the deck establishes an oppressive asymmetric creature lock. Opponents cannot keep any creatures on the battlefield, completely neutralizing combat decks, utility creatures, and commander-centric plans. The deck ramps on early turns using artifacts like Sol Ring, Jet Medallion, and Cabal Coffers. Once the lock lands on Turn 5, the engine draws extra cards through Massacre Girl, Known Killer, Black Market Connections, and Morbid Opportunist. It closes the game by attacking with large flyers like Maha, Vilis, Broker of Blood, or Shinryu, Transcendent Rival. While vulnerable to artifact and enchantment removal, the deck dominates creature-dependent tables.
