Deck overview

This mono-black deck is commanded by Starscream, Power Hungry // Starscream, Seeker Leader, blending monarch politics with aggressive card-draw punishment and big-mana finishers. The deck leverages Starscream's converted vehicle side to take the monarch with flying and haste as early as Turn 3, flipping into a lethal drain engine that punishes opponents every time you draw cards. A dense suite of complementary group-slug and attrition pieces—such as Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Underworld Dreams, Court of Ambition, and Teferi's Puzzle Box—taxes opposing life totals and hands while generating sustained card advantage. Mana acceleration from Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and low-cost rocks fuels mid-to-late game bombs like Peer into the Abyss, Torment of Hailfire, and Exsanguinate. The deck excels at grinding down table life totals through unavoidable triggers while maintaining a resilient, commander-accessible card draw engine.
