Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats and attrition strategy commanded by Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER // Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel. The deck revolves around cycling recurring sacrifice fodder—such as Forsaken Miner, Bloodghast, and Reassembling Skeleton—through sacrifice outlets and drain engines. Deploying Sephiroth on Turn 3 establishes an immediate card draw and life-drain engine. By Turn 5, the deck leverages edict effects and combat to force four creature deaths in a single turn, transforming Sephiroth into Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel and creating the permanent Super Nova emblem. From this point, continuous death triggers, augmented by Bastion of Remembrance, Blood Artist, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel, steadily drain the entire table to zero life by Turn 7. The deck also harbors a compact infinite loop using Phyrexian Altar and Forsaken Miner alongside a targeting drain effect. While vulnerable to graveyard hate and lacking counterspells, its exceptional recursive resiliency and asymmetric sacrifice pressure make it a relentless midrange engine.
