Deck overview

This deck is a political control and pillowfort build commanded by Zedruu the Greathearted. The primary game plan focuses on establishing early defense through attack taxes like Ghostly Prison and Propaganda, while using Zedruu to donate neutral or debilitating permanents such as Witness Protection, Pendant of Prosperity, or Darksteel Mutation to opponents. In exchange, Zedruu generates recurring card advantage and life buffer on each upkeep. The deck leverages goad pieces and forced-combat threats like Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos and Khârn the Betrayer to whittle down enemy life totals while remaining untouched behind Sphere of Safety and Pramikon, Sky Rampart.
