Deck overview

This is an Abzan life-as-a-resource recursion deck. Betor, Ancestor's Voice is the engine: losing life through pain lands, self-mill, fetches, and Doom Whisperer-style payment feeds its end-step reanimation, while lifelink damage and life-gain payoffs keep the account positive. The deck has several independent finish lines: hit 40+ life for Felidar Sovereign or 50+ for Test of Endurance, stock the graveyard with 20+ creature cards for Mortal Combat, or control four Demons for Liliana's Contract. Vito and Bloodletter convert life gain into lethal drain. The hidden-style line is Zenos yae Galvus // Shinryu: transforming Shinryu can turn one opponent's death into a table win, though it is a supplemental layer rather than the core build.
