Deck overview

This deck wins by turning creature deaths into life loss and card or mana advantage. Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim is the central payoff because the commander is always accessible, while Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Bastion of Remembrance, and similar cards provide redundancy. Small creatures such as Doomed Traveler, Hunted Witness, and Crawling Chorus supply fodder and often replace themselves. The strongest engine is Ashnod's Altar, Pitiless Plunderer, and Reassembling Skeleton, with Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim converting the repeatable loop into a table kill. The deck can also play a fair attrition game with Braids, Cabal Minion, removal, and recurring creatures. Its main limitation is access: it has no broad tutor package, little fast mana, and no countermagic. The infinite line is therefore a late ceiling rather than an ordinary early goldfish. Mulligans should prioritize lands, an outlet, a payoff, and a draw or recursion effect.
