Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages Marrow-Gnawer to lead an aggressive, high-synergy swarm strategy centered on 30 copies of Rat Colony. The game plan focuses on deploying early mana acceleration and Rat Colonies before landing Marrow-Gnawer or Thrumming Stone on Turn 4. On Turn 5, the deck creates a must-answer board state by either doubling the swarm into an unblockable army with fear or rippling virtually every Rat Colony from the library directly onto the battlefield. Beyond pure combat math, the deck includes a two-card infinite combo using Marrow-Gnawer and Thornbite Staff to generate infinite Rat tokens and death triggers. Strong card draw engines like Skullclamp, Karumonix, and Species Specialist prevent the deck from running out of gas, while four premier black tutors ensure rapid access to critical artifacts. Although vulnerable to mass exile sweepers and non-creature permanents, the deck overwhelms standard pods with blistering speed and lethal combat inevitability.
