Deck overview

This deck executes a focused Golgari swarm strategy centered on 30 copies of Shadowborn Apostle and Gorma, the Gullet. In the opening turns, it curves out Apostles and modest mana acceleration. The primary goal is casting Thrumming Stone on turn 5, rippling nearly every Apostle out of the library onto the battlefield. By sacrificing six Apostles to summon Rune-Scarred Demon, Gorma, the Gullet buffs every subsequent Apostle entering the battlefield into a 7/7 threat. The deck threatens an attack of over 100 power on turn 6. The deck features recursive recovery engines such as Bloondbond March and Living Death, allowing it to bounce back from wipes. However, it trades away interactive capability, running virtually zero instant-speed removal spells to disrupt opponents.
