Rivoltron

Format: Commander

Commander: River Song

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is an Izzet tempo/voltron hybrid built around River Song's unique combination of reverse-draw and opponent-punishing Spoilers trigger. The primary kill is commander damage: suit River with evasion (Prowler's Helm, Brotherhood Regalia, Rogue's Passage) and damage doubling (Mjolnir, Hammer of Thor), pump her with Blackblade Reforged plus a dozen proliferate effects, then one-shot each opponent with unblockable 21+ damage swings while her Spoilers pings punish every fetch land and scry the table makes. The list also carries a genuine secondary combo - Niv-Mizzet, Parun or Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind with Curiosity/Ophidian Eye for an infinite draw-ping loop - plus a spellslinger value core (Talrand, Sky Summoner, Archmage Emeritus, Storm-Kiln Artist) and a Hive Mind line that converts scry cantrips into table-wide Spoilers triggers. A top-of-library package (Fblthp, Lost on the Range, The Reality Chip, The Temporal Anchor) plays beautifully off River drawing from the bottom.
