Deck overview

This Golgari deck pairs Food token generation and lifegain triggers with a typal payoff centered on Blech, Loafing Pest. The commander places +1/+1 counters on Pests, Bats, Insects, Snakes, and Spiders whenever you gain life. The deck curves into early utility creatures and ramp, casts Blech on Turn 3, and establishes a steady stream of Food tokens through cards like Peregrin Took, Tireless Provisioner, and Michelangelo, the Heart. Midgame value is sustained by draw engines such as Braids, Arisen Nightmare and Idol of Oblivion. While growing a wide board of buffed creatures, the deck applies continuous pressure through sacrifice attrition like Witch of the Moors and Rottenmouth Viper. The game closes around Turn 7 to 9 through overwhelming combat damage, Night of the Sweets' Revenge overruns, or indirect burn from Mirkwood Bats and Marionette Master.
