Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Treasure and Dragon Midrange deck commanded by Smaug, Wicked Worm. The strategy capitalizes on opposing artifact ramp by entering the battlefield to generate a hoard of Treasure tokens scaled to the table. Once assembled, the deck spends Treasure mana to cast spells, triggering Smaug to draw cards and maintain continuous resource velocity. Win conditions combine evasive aerial beats from high-power Dragons like Cavern-Hoard Dragon, Smaug the Magnificent, and Smaug the Impenetrable with aristocrat drain engines like Mirkwood Bats and Mayhem Devil. Amass Goblin and Orc mechanics provide sacrificial fodder and wide ground pressure, while an infinite mana combo between Mayhem Devil and Smaug the Impenetrable offers a compact late-game closing route. A protective package of efficient red counterspells, target redirection, and damage sweepers ensures the deck disrupts faster strategies while developing its dominating engine.
