Deck overview

This is a Golgari deathtouch aristocrats deck helmed by The Serpent Society. The plan floods the board with cheap deathtouch creatures, then converts their deaths into edicts (via the commander plus Grave Pact/Dictate of Erebos), life drain (Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Bastion of Remembrance), and poison (Fynn, the Fangbearer). Recursion from Meren of Clan Nel Toth and sacrifice outlets like Yawgmoth, Thran Physician and Phyrexian Altar keep the engine looping. Secondary pressure comes from combat payoffs (Ohran Frostfang, Aveline de Grandpre, Unstoppable Slasher) and life-loss doublers (Bloodletter of Aclazotz). The commander is a strong edict engine and resilient body, but the 99 already contains redundant death triggers, drains, and a poison package, so the deck still functions without it.
