Deck overview

Szarel, Genesis Shepherd commands a Jund lands-matter deck that turns land sacrifice and recursion into rapid board growth and steady value. Szarel allows playing lands directly from the graveyard while distributing +1/+1 counters to other creatures whenever you sacrifice nontoken permanents. The primary game plan cycles fetchlands and sac-lands through spells like Harrow and abilities like Evendo Brushrazer, powering engines such as The Gitrog Monster, Korvold, Fae-Cursed King, and Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest. You win through massive combat waves via Omnath, Locus of Rage, Rampaging Baloths, or lethal drain and direct burn from Mayhem Devil, Tannuk, Memorial Ensign, and Worldsoul's Rage.
