Format: Commander

Commander: Zaxara, the Exemplary

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Sultai X-spell deck built around Zaxara, the Exemplary. The commander supplies both ramp and a free Hydra token for every spell with {X}, so the deck converts X-cost spells into enormous counter-heavy boards. The cleanest win is a two-card loop: attach Freed from the Real to Zaxara, generate infinite blue mana, and close with Blue Sun's Zenith, Walking Ballista, or a massive Mind into Matter. If the combo is stopped, the deck shifts to combat with unblockable and trampling Hydras supported by Herald of Secret Streams, Garruk's Uprising, and counter doubling from Zimone. No hidden commander exists; the engine is the X-cost package itself.
