Deck overview

This Simic deck focuses on Merfolk tribal synergy led by Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca. The primary game plan develops early Merfolk creatures to unlock Kumena's tap abilities, turning creature presence into card advantage and permanent +1/+1 counters. By Turn 4, the deck establishes an engine that draws cards at instant speed without spending mana. On Turn 5, token generators such as Deeproot Pilgrimage and explore triggers from Hakbal of the Surging Soul expand the board into a lethal combat threat. Evasion from Lord of Atlantis and Master of the Pearl Trident pushes unblockable damage to close the game across Turns 6 and 7. The deck also includes an infinite extra turn combo using Wanderwine Prophets and Deeproot Pilgrimage. While vulnerable to mass creature board wipes, the deck defends its engine through counterspells, Vodalian Hexcatcher, and Heroic Intervention.
