Deck overview

This Abzan deck pairs Kodama of the East Tree with Tymna the Weaver to combine early card advantage with explosive mid-game landfall mechanics. In the early turns, the deck deploys low-cost ramp and utility creatures, enabling Tymna the Weaver to draw multiple extra cards each turn cycle. As mana develops, Kodama of the East Tree doubles permanent deployment, cheating lands and token generators directly onto the battlefield. Engines like Scute Swarm, Felidar Retreat, and Avenger of Zendikar rapidly build wide armies from routine land drops and ramp spells. The deck closes games on Turn 7 by pumping its token swarm with evasive overruns like Moonshaker Cavalry or Pathbreaker Ibex, or by draining opponents with Mirkwood Bats. It provides strong permanent removal and resilient recursion, operating as a robust casual midrange threat.
