Thalia and the gitrog monster by Chuy

Format: Commander

Commander: Thalia and The Gitrog Monster

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This Abzan lands deck uses Thalia and The Gitrog Monster as a stax and value engine to grind landfall advantage. The primary plan is to stack extra land drops (Exploration, Azusa, Oracle of Mul Daya, Dryad of the Ilysian Grove) with recursion (Ramunap Excavator, Crucible of Worlds, Six, Life from the Loam) to trigger payoffs like Field of the Dead, Scute Swarm, Felidar Retreat, and The Necrobloom for a wide token board, then close with Craterhoof Behemoth or drain with Retreat to Hagra and Ob Nixilis, the Fallen. Thalia taxes opponents while drawing cards on attack. The Gitrog Monster and Ancient Greenwarden act as hidden commanders, doubling triggers and sustaining card flow when the commander is absent.
