Deck overview

This is a mono-black "search-punishment" and big-mana drain deck helmed by Ob Nixilis, Unshackled. The primary plan is twofold: punish opponents for searching their libraries (Ob Nixilis, Unshackled, Maralen of the Mornsong, Opposition Agent, Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire, Scheming Symmetry) while simultaneously ramping to absurd mana totals via Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, Nirkana Revenant, Black Market, Nyx Lotus, and Bubbling Muck. The deck then closes with a massive Exsanguinate (doubled by Bloodletter of Aclazotz), a high-devotion Gray Merchant of Asphodel, or the drain synergies of Exquisite Blood, Sower of Discord, and Archfiend of Despair. A ten-card tutor suite guarantees access to every key piece, and Bolas's Citadel offers an alternate top-deck engine.
