Deck overview

This deck is a combo-centric build centered around Animar, Soul of Elements. The primary strategy accelerates Animar onto the battlefield on Turn 2 or 3, rapidly accumulates +1/+1 counters using low-cost creatures and bounce effects, and seeks to resolve Ancestral Statue. Once Animar holds four counters, Ancestral Statue casts for free and repeatedly bounces itself, granting Animar arbitrary power and toughness. From there, tutors like Transit Mage and Trinket Mage chain directly into an arbitrarily large Walking Ballista, machine-gunning the table in a single turn. Animar’s intrinsic protection from black and white provides organic defense against premier spot removal spells, while cheap countermagic shields the winning turn.
