Basil goose

Format: Commander

Commander: Kokusho, the Evening Star

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Monoblack reanimator aristocrats built to maximize Kokusho, the Evening Star's death trigger. The commander is both the main sacrifice target and the primary win condition. Reanimation spells, one-mana 'return when dies' instants, and sacrifice outlets keep Kokusho dying again and again, while Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Blade of Selves multiply death triggers. Secondary paths use Gray Merchant devotion and a giant Exsanguinate, often doubled by Bloodletter of Aclazotz. Syr Konrad and Ayara function as drain amplifiers. The deck is graveyard-dependent and has no true tutors or counterspells; it wins through attrition and burst drain rather than combat.
