Deck overview

This Golgari Food/Voltron deck is helmed by Ygra, Eater of All, who turns every creature into a Food artifact, unlocking a dense synergy web of sacrifice, token generation, and counter growth. The primary plan is to ramp early, deploy Ygra, then use Food producers like Peregrin Took and Gilded Goose alongside sacrifice outlets (Ashnod's Altar, Phyrexian Altar) to fuel Ygra's +1/+1 counters. A suite of equipment (Swiftfoot Boots, Mithril Coat, Shadowspear) makes Ygra a resilient, growing beater that wins through commander damage. Backup paths include overwhelming Squirrel armies via Chatterfang, Squirrel General and Doubling Season, or dropping huge finishings like Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre and It That Betrays. The deck lacks fast combo lines, instead relying on incremental value and combat inevitability.
