Old Rutstein by Orzhov667

Format: Commander

Commander: Old Rutstein

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Old Rutstein is the engine of a Golgari self-mill/land-recursion deck. Its primary plan is to mill lands and creatures, turn lands into explosive mana via cards like Splendid Reclamation, and then win by reanimating a wide board and finishing with Craterhoof Behemoth or by flinging a giant Multani, Yavimaya's Avatar with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord. Jarad acts as the hidden finisher. Secondary paths use Syr Konrad, the Grim and Ancient Brass Dragon to drain or recur, while Lich-Knights' Conquest and Victimize turn tokens and graveyard bodies into a lethal force. The commander matters as a token/mill engine but is not the win condition; the deck can still operate without it, though slower and less reliably.
